Mr. Bobby Rankin, serves as the Chief of Protocol (COP), is a third generation AME. He grew up in North Carolina and his grandfather was an AME preacher. Mr. Rankin was a military police officer for 3 years in the United States Air Force and has owned his own company, Rankin Security Services, for 34 years.

 

While managing his own company, he formerly served as the Head of Security for the AME Church for 32 years. In his current role as Chief of Protocol, he helps plan and orchestrate connectional church meetings, ensures that the traditions carried throughout the centuries are honored, and sees that everything runs in the correct order according to the fundamental rules of the AME Church Book of Discipline.

 

He is a proud member of Greater Bethel AME Church in Charlotte, NC and his favorite scripture is Psalm 84:10: “For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
