Rev. Desmond Thomas serves as the Meeting Logistics Coordinator for the AME Finance Department. He holds a Master of Divinity and Master of Social Work from Baylor University in Waco, TX, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix.  Rev. Des is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the AME Church and has served in student ministry for over 15 years. His giftedness and ​anointing have also allowed him to serve in music ministry and college ministry, for which he remains humble to serve.

 

As the Meeting Logistics Coordinator, Rev. Des provides housing and onsite logistical support for connectional events and church meetings.  In addition, he works creatively and strategically with the Director of Meeting Management and the leadership team, to ensure meetings operate effectively and are executed based on best practices in planning and evaluation.

 

In addition, Rev. Des is an advocate for mental health in church leaders and continues to seek opportunities that will enhance his professional and educational growth and development in this area of interest.
